What we preserve
Otaru Country Club opened in 1928 on the cliffs above Ishikari Bay outside Sapporo, making it the oldest golf course in Hokkaido and one of the oldest in Japan. The site's seaside character — coastal winds, fescue rough, sweeping ocean views — places it closer in feel to a British links than to the parkland courses dominant in Honshu. The original 18-hole layout has been preserved with only minor revisions, and the club is consistently ranked among Japan's top 20 courses. Member-only.
