What we preserve
Phoenix Country Club opened in 1971 on the Pacific coast in Miyazaki, designed as the centrepiece of the Phoenix Seagaia resort. Since 1974 it has hosted the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament, one of the most prestigious events on the Japan Golf Tour, regularly drawing major international fields — Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Tiger Woods, and Hideki Matsuyama are among the winners. The coastal routing through pine forest with the ocean in the background has become one of the most recognisable tournament backdrops in Asian golf. Resort-attached play.
