Two groups, a soft grey May morning, and steak grilled on hot stone at the turn — one full tour day at Fuji Classic, as it ran.

Some tour days announce themselves. This one didn't. The vans slipped out of Shibuya and Shinjuku early, the expressway still empty, and by the time we reached Fuji Classic the sky had settled into the kind of soft grey that makes every fairway look greener.

Range balls first, then off the opening tee — two groups a few minutes apart, Fuji behind the clouds all day.

One last pass through the pro shop, bags back in the van, asleep before the expressway. Fuji Classic sits just under two hours from Tokyo — we run small-group days there all season, pickup and photos included.
