Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s strategic all-bent championship course in Tomakomai — a JLPGA tournament venue 20 minutes from New Chitose Airport, with visitor play available.
Opened in July 1993 and designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., Katsura Golf Club is one of Hokkaido's few all-bentgrass courses — tees, fairways and greens alike. The layout embodies Jones's risk-reward philosophy (the club's motto: the greater the risk, the greater the reward), stretching to 7,116 yards from the black tees at par 72 through pine forest and lakes in Tomakomai's Uenae district. A regular JLPGA tournament venue, it has hosted the Nitori Ladies (most recently 2024) and the Nippon Ham Ladies Classic (2019, 2021, 2022). Facilities include the Katsura Golf Garden practice grounds, a pro shop, guest rooms and a large bathhouse. Operated under GRAND PGM, the course welcomes visitor play with date-based pricing. Approximately 20 minutes (15 km) from New Chitose Airport and an hour from Sapporo.
